Welcome to this Oak Lane Studio Tutorial. In this video we'll show you how to stencil our Farm Fresh Eggs Stencil onto a piece of burlap using acrylic paint to create a beautiful wall accent. https://www.oaklanestudio.com/
All you will need is our Farm Fresh Eggs Stencil, Repositionable Spray Adhesive, and Black Acrylic Paint, and a stencil brush which can all be found at https://www.oaklanestudio.com/ Start by fixing your burlap in place with brass tacks to a wooden frame like we did in this tutorial. If you are going to frame your burlap or use it as a place mat then spray a piece of cardboard with repositionable spray adhesive then press the burlap to the cardboard. This will keep the burlap stationery as you stencil. Use painter's tape around the outer edges of the stencil to keep paint from straying outside the borders. Once your burlap is secured, use Repositionable Spray Adhesive on the back of your stencil and allow it 30 seconds to become tacky. Press the stencil to the center of the burlap, then prepare your paint. Distribute a small amount of paint onto a paper plate then begin loading your stencil brush by swirling it into the paint. After loading up with paint, swirl the excess paint onto paper towel until your stencil brush feels dry to the touch. Now start swirling light coats of paint into the stencil design over the burlap. It should take 2-3 coats to get full coverage. Be patient as you stencil without loading too much paint onto your brush. This prevents paint bleed. When swirling the brush over the burlap if the color stops coming through reload the brush & swirl the excess off until the brush is dry to the touch again. Once the color of the design is full colored, gently peel the stencil from the surface of the burlap. That's all there is to it! All of the tools used in this tutorial are listed below.
